Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease the muffin cups.
2. Prepare the Batter:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
Gently fold in the chopped cherries and chocolate chips.
3. Fill the Muffin Cups:
Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 fill.
If desired, sprinkle the tops with sliced almonds.
4. Bake the Muffins:
Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
